Use it at your own discretion, you have been warned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One of the key reasons why those links aren\u2019t as useful anymore is simple. As with every 2nd thing online, <strong>it has been severely abused by SEO specialists in the past,<\/strong> causing Google to devalue those links significantly. John Mueller even called web 2.0 links spammy in their nature, and if you do it like people did in the early 2000s &#8211; he\u2019s not far from the truth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Everyone can build links like that.<\/strong> You don\u2019t need to contribute much or reach out to people. This is just another reason why getting these links is relatively easy, but not as effective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"02f2f3d26b69\">Foundation Links: What Are They Good For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, so before you start to think that foundation backlinks are worthless &#8211; hear us out!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those links may not be the most powerful ones, but SEO specialists still use them for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Diversification of a <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/backlink-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>backlink profile<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; remember, we just said that guest posts and forum links work better? They still do, but you also need miscellaneous links to keep your link profile natural.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tier links<\/strong> &#8211; these links work great as tier 2 or even tier 3.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Passing the Google Sandbox Stage<\/strong> &#8211; links help Google to notice your website, and foundation links will look natural if you\u2019re just starting your SEO journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brand new websites<\/strong> &#8211; if your website is brand new, then foundation link building is the most cost-effective option to start getting visible on Google. Thus, at minimum, you should set up an \u201cabout us\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"\/blog\/contact-us-page-seo\/\">contact us<\/a>\u201d pages with social links, as well as an author bio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, you start to fill the blog with content. The majority of people just use article spinning, <strong>but that\u2019s not what we recommend.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s always better to serve unique content, although it doesn\u2019t have to be the best quality one (that\u2019s something you should save for your own website). The easiest thing to do is just hire someone from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiverr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fiverr<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/upwork.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Upwork<\/a> to write some content for you at a low rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul start=\"4\">\n<li>Drip-feed the process of posting content. Don\u2019t just place 5 or 10 articles at once, you should rather spread this process over a few weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul start=\"5\">\n<li>Leave a backlink to your website. You can then upload it on websites like Vimeo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, you can export your presentation as a PDF and upload it to slide-sharing websites like Slideshare.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Similarly, if you feature any imagery\/ infographics in your presentation, export those as images and upload them to as many image\/ infographic sharing websites as you like.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whenever you upload media content, simply link your website in the description.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1834\" height=\"612\" src=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-808\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image3.png 1834w, https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image3-1536x513.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1834px) 100vw, 1834px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The process takes some time but is quite easy to set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6266936f38af\">Bear This in Mind When Searching For The Right Platforms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make sure to check the website metrics.<\/strong> You should be looking at 50+DA and 20+TF. You can check those using probably any SEO tool (including Ahrefs, Semrush and Moz).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1320\" height=\"526\" src=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-807\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Metrics can be deceiving! <strong>Do not forget to check the website traffic<\/strong> to see if it\u2019s a website with a real human audience and not a part of some link network. You can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SimilarWeb<\/a> to estimate the amount of traffic a website receives as well as regions where the traffic comes from.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1476\" height=\"663\" src=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-810\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use your common sense.<\/strong> If a certain platform is filled with spam (or has a poor reputation) &#8211; that\u2019s not the place to build backlinks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Examine the link flow for possible redirects. <\/strong>As you can see in the screenshot below, this link placed in Tumblr first redirects to a Tumblr\u2019s secondary domain then redirects to <a href=\"https:\/\/href.li\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">href.li<\/a> (an online tool to hide referrer information) and only then redirects to your website. Moreover, this redirect chain is handled through JS, which makes it more difficult for Google spiders to crawl the link. Thus, backlinks that follow a chain of redirects hold a lot less value (if any).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"910\" height=\"632\" src=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-809\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"298c01c5828f\">Getting Those Links Indexed Fast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve built a handful of foundation links &#8211; we need to get them indexed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s review the most common indexing methods (and whether they work or not):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><s><strong>GSC\/ Sitemap <\/strong><\/s>&#8211; the first piece of advice you\u2019ll hear from an SEO specialist would be to submit a sitemap or use a URL inspection tool in Google Search Console. You don\u2019t own the websites where you post, so you can cross this one out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tier 2\/ Tier 3 Links <\/strong>&#8211; building supplementary links to your initial backlink. Most people use automated tools to build those kinds of links, as they don\u2019t hold any value and are simply needed to get your tier 1 links indexed faster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social signals<\/strong> &#8211; posting social content, that would include your desired link. Pinterest repins, Twitter shares, and Facebook shares are a few examples. Once again, you can try to do it genuinely or rely on automations (not advisable, but doable).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"812\" height=\"605\" src=\"https:\/\/crowdo.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-812\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Indexing tools<\/strong> &#8211; there are LOTS of tools on the market (like Senuke), that promise to index your links fast. Most likely, they use the first two methods. The only difference is &#8211; it will be done for you.
